Can the new xbox 360 4GB play original Xbox Games?

I want to but the new xbox and i was wondering if the new xbox 360 4GB can play original xbox 360 games like gta san andreas, gta vice city, and gta 3?

It can’t play the backwards compatible games unless you add the official hard drive. The hard drive is needed to emulate the original Xbox’s software. The 4GB 360 doesn’t have a hard drive. it has 4GBs of flash memory on the motherboard. You’ll also need the backwards compatible update from Xbox Live.
